Melchsee-Frutt is located in the heart of scenic Switzerland. Our holiday region can be reached along a well-developed road network. The route from Sarnen leads up to the valley station of Stöckalp. Melchsee-Frutt is renowned as a traffic-free health resort and access by private transport is therefore restricted.
Arrival by car
The high plateau of Melchsee-Frutt is traffic-free with restricted access for cars. In summer, Melchsee-Frutt can be reached by car but only at limited times. The mountain road Stöckalp - Melchsee-Frutt is open to public traffic from Stöckalp on the hour. For example, the road opens for uphill traffic to Melchsee-Frutt from 10:00 am to 10:40 am and for downhill traffic to Stöckalp from 11:00 am to 11:40 am. The parking spots at Melchsee-Frutt cost CHF 16. At Stöckalp they are free of charge. We recommend to use the Stöckalp car park.
If coming by car: Take the motorway to Lucerne (A2) and leave the A2 at the Lopper junction and proceed to the A8, Interlaken, Sarnen. From Sarnen follow the cantonal road to Kerns, Melchtal, Stöckalp.
Arrival by public transportation
Access to Sarnen from all directions by train. Taking the public bus from the railway station to Kerns will take you for a beautiful ride along the valley of Melch. Exit the bus right at the doorstep of the gondola towards Melchsee-Frutt.
